Under this scheme, the government will provide 1 crore ready-made houses to the intended beneficiaries by 2022. Beneficiaries will be selected under this scheme on the basis of 2011 census. Through the Pradhan Mantri Grameen Awas Yojana 2022, the money given to the economically weaker sections of the rural areas to build a concrete house will be directly deposited into the bank account and with this money the rural people will be able to fulfill their dream of building a house.

The total cost for construction of 1 crore houses under this scheme of Gramin Awas Yojana 2022 is 1, 30, 075 crores. This cost will be borne by the central government and the state government on the basis of 60:40.

The ratio is 90:10 in case of North-Eastern States and three Himachal Pradesh states namely Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Under the Gramin Awas Yojana 2022, the entire cost will be borne by the Central Government in case of Union Territories. The Centre’s share of the total expenditure under this scheme is Rs. 81,975 crore will be. Out of which Rs. 60000 crore will be. And remaining Rs. 21,975 crore will be met by taking a loan from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. Which will be amortized from the budgetary grant after 2022.

Eligibility for PM Rural Housing Scheme 2022

Female-headed households with no adult member between the ages of 16 and 59 years.
Under this scheme households which should not have any adult member in the age group of 16 to 59 years.
Households that should not have any literate adult member above 25 years of age.
Families in which any member is a disabled person or in which no adult member is physically able.
Landless families working as daily wage earners.
