Gujarat electors require separate forms to enter a new name, to register Indian citizens living abroad, and to remove names from the voter list. Registration of Name in Electoral Roll (Form-6)
According to the Election Commission of India’s Voter Registration Rules, 1960, a citizen of the country can register in the voter list at the age of 18 years. Form-6 is used to enter a name as a first-time voter in the electoral roll. Apart from this, citizens have to use Form No-6 only for migration from one constituency to another constituency.
Registration of Name in Electoral Roll (For Overseas Voter) Form-6A
Form No-6A should be used for inclusion of names in the Electoral Roll for those residing outside India. Through this form citizens who are staying abroad for any reason can add their name to the voter list through this form number.
Deletion of Name in Electoral Roll (Form-7)
Names are included in the Indian Citizen Electoral Roll but names have to be reduced due to various reasons. Form No-7 has to be filled for deletion of name from voter list due to death of citizen. Apart from this, one can fill this form to deduct from the electoral roll due to migration of a citizen.
Change in Details in Electoral Roll (Form-8)
Citizens whose names have appeared in the electoral roll by the Election Commission of India but who need to make necessary corrections or additions can use Form No. 8. Citizen name, date of birth, photograph, address etc. can be corrected through this form.
Transposition of Entry in Electoral Roll (Form-8A)
If the citizens of the country want to change their address in the electoral roll, they can change it through the Election Commission. Form No-8A can be used in case of migration from one place of residence in the same electoral roll to another in the same electoral division.
