Digilocker App: This is how to save documents online in a government approved app
Digilocker App: Digital Locker or DigiLocker Download DigiLocker can be a totally virtual locker, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2015. DigiLocker was launched under the Digital India campaign. To open a DigiLocker account, you must have an Aadhaar card. Citizens of the country can store any government certificate like PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport etc. in DigiLocker.
How to create account on Digilocker App?
First visit digilocker.gov.in or digitallocker.gov.in.
After this, click on Check in on the appropriate.
A new page will open where enter your mobile number.
After this DigiLocker will send an OTP to the mobile number you entered.
After this set your username and password.
Now you will use DigiLocker.
You can also use the DigiLocker app by downloading it from Android’s Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
According to the Download DigiLocker website, DigiLocker has over 130 million registered users so far. So far 1 crore 90 lakh documents have been uploaded on DigiLocker and around 6.6 lakh documents have been e-signed.
How to upload documents in Digilocker App?
Log on to download DigiLocker.
Go to Uploaded Documents on the left and click Upload.
Write a quick description about the document.
Then click on upload button.
At DigiLocker, you will store your driving license etc. documents next to your 10th, 12th, graduation etc. marksheet. Mind limiting that you can only upload documents of maximum 50MB and you will also upload documents by creating a folder.
Recently, the Central Transport Department issued a directive to the traffic police saying that documents from DigiLocker will also be admissible for verification. Earlier, Indian Railways also accepted DigiLocker documents for verification. You will show the documents of traffic police, download digilocker at the time of verification during rail journey.
