Gujarat Monsoon 2023 : Various areas of Gujarat including Bhopal, Ghuma, Prahlad Nagar, Shyamal and Vejalpur received unexpected rain along with lightning in the evening. The Meteorological Department has predicted that this unpredictable weather is expected to last for two days with thundershowers across Gujarat. As a result sailors from Amreli, Saurashtra and South Gujarat have been advised not to go to sea.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be rain in Saurashtra-Kutch with violent winds. Heavy rainfall is also expected in north, south and central regions of Gujarat. In Saurashtra, heavy rainfall will be concentrated in Rajkot, Amreli and Bhavnagar cities, while Porbandar, Patan, Mehsana, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Vadodara and Anand districts will receive sporadic rains. Thunderstorms and strong winds are predicted in Gujarat in the next two days.

The weather has changed in Patan district. In the afternoon, the sky was filled with black clouds, and darkness prevailed in the surrounding areas. After a hot day, villages like Harij, Kukrana, Boratwada and Sapara experienced a significant drop in temperature as strong winds, lightning and rains arrived. This unseasonal change in weather has brought relief from the heat and enveloped the region in a refreshing atmosphere.

Climate change in Bhavnagar

There has been a sudden change in the atmosphere of Bhavnagar this afternoon with lightning and wind storm. Despite the sultry weather, the rains inundated many parts of the city, creating a rainy climate. Light rain followed by sudden cloud cover has spread a refreshing chill across the region. The rain has given relief to the people who were struggling against the intense heat earlier.

Unseasonal rains in Barwala

Unseasonal rain has been reported in Barwala division of Botad. Rain has spread to rural areas covering not only Barwala city but also villages like Kundal Bela Timbala of Barwala taluk. As a result, the atmosphere has become cooler with strong winds blowing. The entire diocese is shrouded in darkness courtesy of the black Dibang clouds that surround it. Moreover, some areas of Surendranagar district also experienced similar weather conditions.

In the last 24 hours, there was a weather movement in the country.

West Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh experienced light to moderate rains in the past few days.

Northeast India, Gangetic West Bengal, East Madhya Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Kerala received light to moderate rain.

Rajasthan and Haryana received light to moderate rain with dust and hail.

Light drizzle was experienced over parts of interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Weather system across the country

North Pakistan is currently experiencing Western Disturbance.

The northwestern Rajasthan region and its neighboring region of Pakistan have weather disturbances, characterized by cyclonic circulation. There is also a trough associated with this system which extends down to the northwest Madhya Pradesh region.

An additional depression has spread over sub Himalayan region of West Bengal to interior parts of Odisha.
