The state government has started the ‘Cycle Subsidy Scheme’ for the transportation of laborers in the state to commute to their place of work. Apart from that, a total of 9836 laborers and families of the state have been given various assistance worth Rs.2 crore 32 lakh.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched the e-dedication of Shramyogi Kalyan Kendra Bhawans prepared at a total cost of 4.59 crores in Ahmedabad and Vadodara and 3 mobile vans and mobile apps for health check-up of workers with a grant of 35 lakhs by Indian Oil Corporation under CSR.

Benefit available under Majdoor Cycle Sahai Yojana
“Cycle Subsidy Scheme” has been launched for ease of transport for laborers from work places. Under this scheme, the state government will spend Rs. 1500 to buy a bicycle. Rs. 1500 will benefit 1708 laborers with assistance. The direction of making the state workers self-reliant has been undertaken by the state government. The Chief Minister encouraged the workers to continue their hard work.
Evidence to avail the benefit of this scheme
Documents required for purchase of cycle: Identity card issued by the employing company.
Bicycle purchase bill
Copy of Aadhaar Card of Shram Yogi
Beneficiary’s bank passbook or canceled cheque.
Last one year Labor Welfare Fund Receipt paid by the company at the office here.
Conditions for Cycle Assistance Scheme
Conditions for Cycle Subsidy Yojana 2023: Employed person should be employed for last one year and his labor welfare fund should be regularly deposited in the office.
There should be a clear bill of purchase of the bicycle.
The application must be submitted to the office within six months after purchasing the bicycle.
Assistance will be given only on renewed cycle.
An assistance of Rs.1500 will be given on purchase of a bicycle.
This assistance will be admissible only once during the employment period.
The final decision regarding assistance will be with the Welfare Commissioner, Justice Sector, Ahmedabad alone.
