PAN Aadhaar Link Deadline Extended : Big relief for Aadhaar PAN link, date extended till 30th June 2023 : Central government has given a big relief to people regarding Aadhaar-PAN linking. The government has extended the last date for Aadhaar-PAN linking from 31 May 2023 to 30 June 2023. As there were three days left before 31 March 2023, people were rushing to attach these two documents due to which people were facing a lot of trouble.

Additional time of 3 months will be given for attachment of both the documents. As of now the last date is 31 March 2023, people are rushing for the link. For this, the government fixed a fee of 1 thousand rupees. The government had earlier also said that there would be a penalty of Rs 10,000 for Aadhaar-PAN link after 31 March 2023, but now people have got 3 more months to link these two important documents.
What if you fail to link your Aadhaar with PAN by June 30, 2023?
If a person fails to link their Aadhaar with PAN by June 30, 2023, their PAN will become inactive from July 1, 2023. If the PAN remains inactive then the following will occur:
No refund will be made against such PAN.
No interest shall be payable on such refund during the period PAN remains inactive.
Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and Tax Collected at Source (TCS) will be deducted/collected at a higher rate than usual as provided in the Income Tax Act, 1961.
If your PAN gets deactivated, you will have to pay a penalty of Rs 1,000 to link it with Aadhaar. Once you pay the fee and report your Aadhaar details to the prescribed authority, your PAN can be reactivated within 30 days.
