The government wants to provide financial assistance to working class women who are pregnant so that they and their baby stay healthy. The government has launched the Suraksha Matrutva Ashwasan Yojana to help pregnant women and their newborns.

Only pregnant women can apply in this scheme, the age of the pregnant woman should be 19 years or above.
Also, women who become pregnant on or after January 1, 2017 will be eligible for this scheme.
Such pregnant women who come from labor community and are economically weaker will benefit from the scheme.
Pregnant women working in government jobs will not be considered eligible for this scheme.
