The name of the recently released scheme is Suryashakti Kisan Yojana. Under this scheme, farmers will be able to generate electricity in their own fields. Which will help them in irrigation and they can sell the surplus electricity to the government to earn a good surplus.
Surya Shakti Kisan Yojana
Suryashakti Kisan Yojana has been launched by Gujarat state government for farmers. By availing the benefit of this scheme, the farmers need electricity for getting water from bore wells in their fields and for other works. For that, solar panels can be installed to generate electricity. If the surplus electricity is increased, it can sell it to the government through grade and generate a new income for itself.

The state government’s scheme for farmers has many objectives. In which farmers can be given electricity to irrigate their fields. Solar panels will be installed in the farmers’ fields, so that the farmers will have ease in irrigation and get all the required facilities. Farmers can earn a good income by selling surplus electricity to the government through their own solar panels.
Subsidy available under Suryashakti Kisan Yojana
Assistance will be provided for solar panels under this scheme. Farmers of the state will be given a subsidy of 60% of the total cost of solar panel projects by the government. The remaining 30% of the cost will be met through loans to farmers. The interest rate of this scheme is 4.5% to 6% and the remaining 5% of the cost incurred in the project has to be paid by the farmer.
This scheme for farmers is divided into 7 years and 18 years period. The total time limit of this scheme will be 25 years. Farmers will be given first at a unit rate of Rs 7 for 7 years and then at a unit rate of Rs 3.5 for 18 years. Under this scheme, the farmers will get 12 hours power supply during the day in the field for irrigation. 12,400 agricultural laborers of 33 districts of Gujarat state will benefit from this scheme.
Benefits available in Suryashakti Kisan Yojana

The surplus electricity generated by the farmers can be fed into the nearby grid. This will generate new income.
Land can be used for crops through PV system and PV system will be insured by the government.
This scheme will reduce the electricity bill.
60% subsidy of the total cost of this project will be provided by the government.
Beneficiaries will be given 30% loan of the total cost under this scheme. The remaining 5% of the cost will have to be paid to the farmer.
The duration of this scheme is approximately 25 years, divided between 7 years and 18 years.
