For this, Ajay became an inspiration to the people by adopting the ‘Subhash Palekar Prakritika Khati’ method and reducing the cost of agriculture to zero.

Ajay Ratna has also been honored with the ‘Krishi Ananya’ award in the year 2019 for introducing a successful model of natural farming.

How did he get success?

After quitting his job, Ajay got the support of his father and family. The most essential for the natural farming system is the native breed cow, which they did not have. That is why he took native cows from his family and now by buying his own cows, he not only prepared inputs for organic farming, but also made them available to farmers coming from far and wide.

More profit with less cost – Ajay earns more than 5 lakh rupees every year and his expenses are only 2 to 3 thousand rupees. According to the Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Department, they state that there is no need to bring any goods from the market regarding the natural Keti method. All the resources that are used in agriculture are found around the house, which reduces the cost of agriculture. He said that human health as well as soil health is continuously improving with this farming method.

What does Ajay plant?

They are cultivating sugarcane, wheat, peas, soybean, mung bean, turmeric, tomato, chillies etc. In chemical farming the cost comes to Rs 30,000 and the earnings come to Rs 45,00. But in organic farming the cost has come down to Rs 3,000 and the profit has been over Rs 5 lakh.
