How to open an account

To open an account under Mahila Samman Bachat Patra Yojana, first of all you have to go to your nearest post office. There you will get Account Opening Form-1 which you have to fill. Apart from this, you also have to submit copies of KYC documents like Aadhaar card and PAN card.

How can you withdraw your money?

Let us tell you that under this scheme your deposit matures after 2 years. After 2 years you will get back your deposit with interest. If you need money in the meantime, you can withdraw up to 40% after 1 year.

The account can be closed after 6 months if the account holder falls seriously ill or dies before the scheme matures. In this case the customer gets 2% less interest i.e. 5.50% only.
