What is the Development Scholarship Scheme? – Vikram Sarabhai Scholarship Yojana
Considering that students in rural areas face financial difficulties and lack of guidance, Physical Research Laboratory has established 10 scholarships in the memory of Prof. Shri Vikram Sarabhai. This scholarship is also known as Vikas Shishyavrithi Yojana or Vikram Sarabhai Incentive Yojana.
A total of 10 scholarships are awarded every year under the Vikram Sarabhai Incentive Scheme. Scholarships are awarded to at least five girls.
Selected students can get a scholarship of up to ₹1,00,000 over a period of four years.
Key features of Vikram Sarabhai Incentive Scheme (Development Apprenticeship).
Vikram Sarabhai Incentive Yojana is only for students from families with income less than 150000 studying in schools in rural areas.
A total of ten (10) scholarships are awarded each year. Out of 10 scholarships, at least 5 scholarships are awarded to girls.
Students studying in Class 8 in a village school in Gujarat whose total annual family income is less than 1.5 lakhs can apply.
[ For the year 2022-23 only, an additional 10 scholarships are available for students currently studying in class 10 and planning to take up science stream next year. If selected these students will be awarded a scholarship for two years which will be ₹30,000/- during class 11 and ₹30,000/- during class 12. ]
Selected students will be eligible for a scholarship of up to ₹1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) for four years.
[ ₹20,000/- in class 9, ₹20,000/- in class 10 and ₹30,000/- in class 11 and ₹30,000/- in class 12 if the student continues in science stream after class 10. ]
Vikram Sarabhai Scholarship Scheme – Eligibility, Terms, Conditions – Vikram Sarabhai Protsahan Yojana in Gujarati
- The student should be studying in class 8 in a government recognized school in a rural area of Gujarat.
- The student will have to submit a written certificate from the school official stating the following details.
- Name of the student and whether the student is a regular student of the school or not.
- Name of the educational board to which the school is affiliated.
- Registration No. of School Board or Gujarat Education Department.
- Details whether the school is government, semi-government or private.
- Language medium of the school.
- Whether the school is located in a rural area of Gujarat or not.
- The applicant has to provide proof of income in which the total annual income of the student’s family from all sources of income should not exceed Rs 1.50000.
The scholarship of a scholarship recipient can be continued after class 10 only if the student continues his studies in science stream in class 11. The student will have to submit a certificate from the head of the school to show this fact.
A student who has received the scholarship is a P.R.L. It is easy to state that he has received any other scholarship or financial aid. A student receiving financial aid from other sources or receiving other scholarships is not necessarily excluded from receiving a development scholarship.
At any time any discrepancy in the application of a scholarship recipient is noticed by PRL, the scholarship of that student will be terminated immediately.

If the student is selected for the scholarship the following details are required to be provided:
Bank Account Details (Account Number, IFSC Code). The account can belong to either parent.
Aadhaar card of the account holder, if the bank account is in the name of parent or guardian.
How to Apply for Vikram Sarabhai Incentive Scheme? – Apply online for Vikram Sarabhai Scholarship Yojana
STEP 1 : Student has to first go to Satawar website of Vikas Scholarship.https://www.prl.res.in/Vikas/index.php?r=tbparticipants/create
STEP 2 : After coming to the website click on “Student Registration”.
STEP 3 : In the new page you will see “Is your school in a rural area?” A question will be asked.
STEP 4 : Then you have to fill your personal, school details, complete address etc. information.
STEP 5 : Finally, the photo of the student has to be uploaded, and the Captcha Code has to be entered and clicked on the “Submit” button.
